**This is a 6-week course. Your registration fee includes 1 class per week for 6 weeks**

[Mondays] 6:30PM – 8:30PM

This course is the perfect booster kit for anyone interested in designing or building their own tiny home. We will run through all aspects of this process, including Week Background & History of tiny homes, Codes & Planning, Design & 3D Software, Framing, Materials selelction, Home Systems, Sustainability, Budgeting & Cost Estimating. At the end of the course, each student will share the tiny house design they have been working on, whatever stage they are at, and receive feedback from their peers.

Materials Fee:

There are no required materials for this course. Suggested downloads for resources will be given, amounting to no more than $60 in suggested resources. Students will learn how to use Sketchup to model their own home designs. This program is available for free online or offline for $120 a year.

Description

Teacher Bio: Teresa Baker

Teresa Baker is the Co-Founder & President of LATCH Collective, as well as a State Chapter Leader with the American Tiny House Association and builder of her own DIY tiny house – the Bakon Box. Her wife Shaina and pittbull Waffles are really excited to be finishing their build and starting tiny house living in 2019, after many years of planning.  With a background in urban planning, Teresa recently graduated from Carpentry school where she gained in-depth understanding of how to build a home, particularly focused on framing, and is currently working as a crew leader for Habitat for Humanity. Teresa also teaches a Tiny House Design Build course as Part Time Faculty with the architecture department at Orange Coast College.
