[Fall Quarter / Term I] 9/9/19 – 10/20/19
[Wednesdays] 5:30PM – 7:30PM

The Mesozoic, or “Age of Dinosaurs”, was a fascinating span of 184 million years that was critical in determining how our present world came to be. This course will explore fundamental biological principles through the context of life in the Mesozoic, focused on the lives, evolution, and ecology of dinosaurs. We will also discuss some of the greatest revolutions in Earth’s history: the origins of mammals, the origins of flowering plants, and the origin of birds. You will learn how lessons from geology, genetics, anatomy, biomechanics, and developmental biology are combined to inform modern paleontology. You do not need any pre-requisite knowledge for the course, but please bring ample imagination and enthusiasm, as we imagine the lives of some of the greatest creatures to ever walk the Earth.

Materials Fee: Students are requested to purchase the book The Rise and Fall of Dinosaurs before class.
